Liquid Force Wakeskates Released

Liquid Force recently unveiled it’s first line of wakeskates to the public, and it’s had the industry buzzing. LF isn’t a newcomer to the wakeskate market, as they’ve worked with Thomas Horrell in building up the Cassette brand for the last few years, but this is the first time LF has ventured alone in the wakeskate market. New graphics are out, a new team has been formed, and much more is on the way. The same design crew that helped Cassette with innovations like the Concave wakeskate, is still in tact at LF. “We’re all pretty excited on the stuff we’re coming out with now, and the stuff we’re working on for the future.” States Don Wallace, LF Sales and Marketing Director. “We had a great run with Thomas, and his crew, but we’re ready to do it on our own now. He’s decided to move on with his brand, and we’re not letting that slow us down. It was fun working with him. We learned a lot from him, and he learned a lot from us.”

LF has been busy building a solid team of riders to represent the new wakeskate line. Tim Kovacich will remain with LF Wakeskates, and looks to lead the charge. Known for innovative tricks, and a smooth style, Tim recently expressed his excitement about his future with LF Wakeskates. “I really feel like Liquid Force is looking out for the future of wakeskating. They’ve done all they can to improve the products in the past, and will continue to do the same. The guys at LF are all really cool, and are going to let me have a lot of say so in the direction we go. Liquid Force Wakeskate’s are going to be Sick!”

LF has also introduced a board for team rider Melissa Marquardt, who’s been riding for the team for over 5 years now, and has recently become very passionate about wakeskating. She was equally as excited about the LF Wakeskates when asked to comment. “I’m so happy that they let me do a graphic that I wanted. I think girls will like it, and I also think guys will like it. I love wakeskating, and this gives me more reason to try a lot more stuff in the future. I plan to continue to wakeskate a lot and do a bunch of filming this summer. I might even compete in the wakeskate division at one of the Pro Tour Stops.”

With Kovacich and Marquardt leading the charge, LF has also signed two other up and coming riders to its wakeskate team. Steve Schoenhals, out of Michigan, and Silas Thurman, out of Portland, Oregon have recently joined the team.

Steve recently came out of nowhere at the Detroit Pro Tour Stop, to win his qualifying heat, and finished an impressive 5th place in the finals.

“I was blown away, watching the kid ride. I’d never heard of him, and here he was giving Grubb and Thomas, and the others a run for their money in the finals. It was really cool. The kid’s down to earth, and really wants to do as much as he can to grow wakeskating. We’re obviously really happy to have him on the team.” States Wallace.

Silas has been ripping, underground style, up in Oregon, and has had several photos published in Alliance, and Wakeboarding Magazine. He’ll be competing at several of the tour stops this summer, and doing all he can to promote the LF wakeskate line.
LF wakeskates will be available at the coolest wakeskate/wakeboard dealers in the world shortly. The complete line up will be available by July 15th, with some boards arriving in shops earlier.
