Cable Tour Rocks Canada

“Absolutely insane” can only describe the atmosphere at the fabulous Beach Club in Montreal, Canada, where over two thousand spectators were on hand for WakeFest, the third stop of the North American Cable Wakeboard Tour and the first ever Canadian Cable Wakeboard National Championship, complete with awesome riding, a Double-Up contest, beach party, bands, DJs, and the Miss Reef Brazil bikini contest.

With its first stop ever in Canada, the Tour was well received by Canadian fans who saw wakeboarding brought to a new level. An incredible group of hospitable Canadians pulled out all the stops to create an unparalleled event, continuing the expansion of competitive cable wakeboarding and wakeskating throughout North America.

The Canadians completely swept the Mens Wakeskate division, as Yann Roy captured the first Wakeskate title of his career on the Tour, while Phil Joyal finished second, and Daniel Mavre finishing third.

The North American Cable Wakeboard Tour would like to thank all of our Sponsors for their generous support of WakeFest, including the Beach Club, Coors Light, Snapple, Coca-Cola, Oakley, O’Neill, Rip Curl, Third Rail, Split, Freestyle, WakeBoard magazine/SBC Media, 69 Surfwear, Gotcha, Mountain Dew, Perrier, Rev, Montclair, Hype Energy Drink, Pepsi, Hyperlite, Grand Marnier, Lifestyles Condoms, Le Vieux Four, Appleton Rhum Jamaica, Langevin Suzuki, Bacardi, Greenhouse Productions, Billabong, Reef, and MC Anthony.

The final stop of the 2003 Cable Wakeboard Tour will be September 13-14 (Surf Expo weekend) at the Orlando Watersports Complex in Orlando, Florida. Check out www.orlandowatersports.com or www.cablewakeboardtour.com for more information.
