Expo Preview: New Wakeskate Shoe From Fox

Date: 09-12-2008
Author: Wakeskating.com Staff

While Fox has been covering wake riders from nearly head-to-toe for the past number of years, only recently have they begun to produce footwear. Even more recent is the addition of a wakeskate shoe to their line-up.

+

This year, Reed Hansen was given the opportunity to design a wakeskate shoe to compliment Fox's line of footwear. By looking at this shoe, it screams wakeskate through the use of mesh and other perforated materials. The mesh is mainly located on the inside of the shoe, and it's also said to be the most breathable variety on the market, allowing for moisture to escape easily. Metal eyelets located towards the bottom of the inner side of the shoe also aid in the shoe's draining capabilities.

A good angle displaying the main features of this shoe: lots of mesh, perforated materials, and a durable toe cap.

Metal eyelets for drainage.

This shoe also has a reinforcing material around the toe and ollie area to aid in durability when you're flicking your maneuvers real proper-like.

Finally, the outsole has maximum traction in mind, and I've been told that the shoes become more grippier the more they're used in the water.

+

Reed's signature shoe from Fox is scheduled to be released right around February, so keep an eye out at your favorite Fox dealer, and check out the Fox website for more information as it becomes available.
