Brian Grubb Repeats Title At The Air Nautique Wake Games Date: 04-27-2008

The four man final in the men's professional wakeskate division at the Air Nautique Wake Games was fully loaded and represented by a host of respectable names. You had last year's Wake Games champion Brian Grubb; captain insane-o himself, Reed Hansen (the moniker is such because he managed to sweep the wakeskating division at the Nationals, Worlds and the Pro-Am last year); Danny Hampson, who's been well on his way to challenging himself and all of wakeskating with new maneuvers and his timeless style after a rough patch of injuries; and promising newcomer Andrew Pastura, whose style and penchant for progression have sent the world of wakeskating a-buzz.
Ultimately, it would be Brian Grubb who would end up on top of the podium, repeating his Wake Games title. Reed Hansen, who just came off of a boat division win at the Byerly Toe Jam placed second, and Danny Hampson and Andrew Pastura rounded out the third and fourth place positions.
Brian Grubb and amateur division champion Joe Phillips were also members of the winning team at the Wake Games, which was further comprised of Shaun Murray, Dean Smith, Josh Sanders, Kate Laird, Emily Copeland Durham, Kevin Michael, Julian Cohen and Freddie Wayne.
Congratulations to all of the wakeskaters who participated this weekend!
