About Greg Nelson
If you're new to wakeboarding, you may not recognize the name Greg Nelson, though he's been an industry icon since the sport began to take shape in the early 90's. In his days as one of the first professional riders, Greg's effortless style helped shape the progression of wakeboarding from the "skiboarding" mentality to the true boardsport that it is today. He was the first wakeboarder to start his own company, DoubleUp Wakeboards, designing and manufacturing some of the best wakeboard shapes ever. Greg also launched the first bus tour, the DoubleUp Experience, traveling the nation with a boat in tow and giving instruction to thousands of riders. Over the course of his career, he's been on the cover of Wakeboarding Magazine (twice), been voted a Top Ten Rider (twice), has starred in some of the best wakeboard films ever and been featured in dozens of publications. Nelson even has his own action figure.

Recently, Greg has returned to his long time passion of designing boards, this time for industry giant Hyperlite. With Hyperlite's vast resources at his side, and working with some of the industry's most recognized pro athletes, Greg has turned out some incredible boards, including the new Tribute and the new Shaun Murray pro model.
