Bryan Soderlind has set up a second premiere for his first wakeskating experiment titled RLAND. Set to take place on October 5 in Jacksonville Beach at the Seawalk Hotel, it's sure to be another entertaining event. According to the RLAND website, Aaron Reed is scheduled to make an appearance, and Scholars World will be playing as well.

In case you haven't heard what the film is about, it's a 16 mm wakeskate experiment that was shot entirely on an old camera from 1951. What resulted is a cinematic piece with interwoven lifestyle, "non-traditonal" and wakeskating footage in a masterful fashion. The format transitions from lake to lake, and almost treats the locations as historically significant riding spots, similar to how key mountains or skate spots are treated by the followers and participants in their respective circles. Numerous riders are then showcased riding on their main stomping ground, as opposed to having clearly set rider sections. Set to a soundtrack that's primarily instrumental and continuous, but still has the beats that will keep you moving, RLAND is less like a hype fest and more like a work of art that's free of the distractions and interruptions a standard video would bring. (This just means the opportunity was taken to do things differently.) Ultimately, the distinction is in the style and is uncomparable.

For more information on RLAND itself, check out RLANDTHEFILM.com.

RLAND is available exclusively through The Standerd Store for $25.00. For specific information and details, including riders and featured music, click here.
