LoneStar Wakeskate Jam 2006

Author: LoneStar Press Release

Smith Optics, Wake Culture, Jerry Lafferty and Under360 present the second annual LoneStar Wakeskate Jam on August 12, 2006. The LoneStar Wakeskate Jam (LSWSJ) is a music festival and a wakeskate-only contest, featuring a jam session with four divisions. The event promises to deliver awesome entertainment and extreme, in your face action from the best wakeskaters throughout the nation. Plus, this event provides an opportunity for all wakeskaters to compete in a contest against other riders with the same abilities.

The LoneStar Wakeskate Jam will take place at M2 Sports in Houston, Texas which is a secret venue known for its butter and beautiful, sunny days. The nation's top professional wakeskaters: Clint Tompkins, Philip Basino, Silas Thurman, Collin Wright, George Daniels, Aaron Reed, Kyle Walton, Brandon Thomas, Ryan Lemons, and many others have been invited to visit this pristine location and display their riding prowess. Local pro riders such as Evan Lykes, , Sammy Woodson, Jesse Landry, Savannah Barber, Jerry Lafferty, Bret Little and Spencer Gillian are definitely going to be there throwing down.

This event requires a lot of support from sponsors, riders, and supporters. Smith Optics is providing lots of cash to make this the highest cash purse available for pro-wakeskaters! M2 Sports will provide a pristine site, and Sea-Doo will provide a Wake Edition PWC, which will be the official ride used to pull the jam. The headlining sponsors for this event are Smith Optics, Wake Culture Clothing, and M2 Sports. Liquid Force, Straight Line, Oak wakeskates, Helium, Cobian, and the Wake Shop will be sponsoring the wakeskate jam as well. The pro division will be a five to six minute free ride session with a first place cash prize of $2000-$3000. The advanced, intermediate, and beginner wakeskate divisions will have a three to four minute free ride session with first place winning a prize package worth over $600!!!

Besides all the radical maneuvers taking place on the M2 Sports' lake, spectators and competitors will be entertained by live, local music talent from "A Different Element" and "Man Hands". The LSWSJ will also feature some of the hottest DJs. They'll provide the sweetest beats for the after party at M2, once the prize ceremony has finished, so that riders and spectators can boogey on down after the contest.

Last year's LSWSJ was a huge success!!! Clint Tompkins walked away with $1000 for his amazing wakeskating prowess, and everyone said it was the best wakeskating competition they had ever witnessed. The LoneStar Wakeskate Jam promises to be one of the biggest parties M2 Sports has seen to date! Smith Optics, Wake Culture, and Under360 say you would be insane not to be there! Thank you to all the sponsors, riders, bands, Alliance magazine, Wakeboarding magazine, and all the websites for making this event possible.
