2005 WWA National Wakeskate Champion Crowned

Author: Wakeskating.com Staff

Pleasant Prarie, WI-- Kickflip attempts, wake to wake shuvits, three shuvs, and wake to wake backside 180's and 360's are a small taste of what went down in Sunday's four man wakeskate final.

At the end of the day, Philip Basino's consistency and well-rounded riding set him above the bar, and he was crowned the 2005 national champion in professional wakeskating. George Daniels was one of two riders trying to ride their way onto the podium with kickflip attempts, but it just wasn't meant to be, and he ended up with a second place finish. Collin Wright took advantage of the wake behind the Super Air Nautique, throwing various wake to wake grabs and smooth backside 180s, all of which helped him land the number three spot on the podium. Brandon Thomas also tried some kickflips, but he couldn't quite put it all together, and he ended up in the number four spot.

Congratulations go out to all of the wakeskate competitors at the 2005 wakeskate nationals. And good luck to those who qualified for the wakeboard/wakeskate worlds in Australia!
