Asterisk To Release With WBMBy: Albumfilms' Press Release
The wakeskate film "Asterisk" is set to ship February 24. The release date is set to coincide with Wakeboarding Magazine's upcoming article on the film trip.
Wakeboarding Magazine's senior editor Kevin Michaels, comments on the article:
"Album Films' formula for this trip was so pure. There were no other agendas than to let wakeskaters push their sport and document the whole thing. So the decision to run a feature about Asterisk was a no-brainer, because WBM supports everything this trip was about. We really hope people enjoy Letchworth's photos in the mag and go buy the video, so that stuff like this can happen more often."
Apparel and eyewear company Oakley is joining the other sponsors of Asterisk, including Cassette Wakeskates, Hyperlite Wakeskates, Kampus Wakeskates, DVS Footwear, WakeWorld.com and Wakeboarding Magazine. Matt Swanson, Oakley sports marketing manager had the following to say:
"After watching Keith Lyman's part in last year's Metronome film, I knew that Oakley and Album Films would one day work together. I am proud to announce our sponsorship of Justin Stephens' latest film, Asterisk."
Oakley sponsors one of the up-and-coming wakeskaters, Danny Hampson, who happens to have a major part in the new film.
Matt Swanson spoke with pride about the young wakeskater:
"After signing Danny Hampson to the apparel team in fall of 2003, I knew it was only a matter of time before he would take the wakeskate industry by storm. Just within the past few months, Danny has a new Oakley apparel ad, a poster in place, and an in-depth interview in Alliance magazine. This new part in the Justin Stephens/Album Films
feature Asterisk shows that this is only the beginning for Danny."
