Heroes and Ghosts TrailerBy: Brandn Mclean
From the polluted waters of South Florida, comes Heroes and Ghosts, a film with an awkward look into wakeskating and what comes along with it. The film basically stems from just riding, when work schedules lay low, and filming the jumbled sequences. Wakeskating to us seems so fresh and new that it expels the unknown, the untapped arenas of a new sector. Anyone who wakeskates knows the falling factor, and the notion of self satisfaction, many of whom will never
understand. So when you gather a group of guys who wakeskate exclusively, you can debunk the viewer frustration with falling, and appreciate it all. The little things, the simple tricks, sometimes becoming the best. Everyone who comes out to ride, brings something different to the table, everyone trying new things, embarking on their own and we all end up appreciating it for what it is.
That's what this sport entails, different pathways to take and relish in, but in the end they come together, a whole, one where friends egg one another on, and truly grasp the feeling of freedom, on the water, and the support from those you ride with.
We only started filming in October so hopefully as time rolls on we can put something a lot larger together. I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen once it's done, probably either make copies for friends, anyone who wants one, or make it available on the web in sections (download and assemble), but we'll cross that bridge when I get busy enough to make it there. It was all filmed in
West Palm/Lantana, FL. Lake Osborne and Okeeheelee.
