Parky's Letter Of The MonthFor those of you who participate in the Wakeskating.com Discussion Forums, you have probably read posts by one particular user that calls himself "Parky". Parky wrote a letter to Wakeboarding Magazine that ended up winning the letter of the month.
In his letter, Parky explained how he started wakeboarding and wakeskating and how he rides behind a small boat with not much of a wake. Be says that he still enjoys riding, even without a big wake despite his friends thinking he is crazy. We appreciated Parky's attitude and was proud to see one of our users making the best out of his situation. By winning letter of the month, Parky also receives a $150.00 Gift Certificate From Wakeside.com. Congratulations to Parky!
Parky's Letter In WBM
I’ve been on the water since I was a kid because my parents own a sailboat. I found out about wakeboarding through a friends (Matt Holmes) and I got really interested in it. But I had a problem. The only boat I could use was my little 10-foot zodiac with its eight-horse engine on the back. One day I rented a wakeboard and tried to get up. It took me about 30 tries and I finally did it. I’ve been wakeboarding for about one year but more wakeskating lately because its more fun behind a boat with a small wake. Most of my friends who wakeboard think its a joke that I ride behind such a crappy boat, but they don't understand that it’s not the kind of boat you ride behind-its how much fun your having doing it. I just want to give hope to the guys and girls who want to wakeboard/wakeskate even if they have a boat with little or no wake.
