dbanana, I've started ONE thread to shamelessly plug WSM and it was to link you guys to a FREE digital copy of the mag for everyone to read. I guess free isn't good enough anymore these days, I'll hand-deliver the next issue to your doorstep with a roll of TP and a book of matches. I don't come on these forums looking for free exposure, I come on here to talk about wakeskating with friends and read a bunch of text, because that's what web forums are for.
Obscura, I miss you guys. Let's go to Wahoo's... |

now we are talking.. I miss the wakelist and the ability to watch people get hammered over email to a mass group.
I still have the 'wakelist' but I bet every email is no longer working.. _________________ Wakeskating

| If ws.com had fresh content updated frequently (on the front page) there would have been little need for the WSM. But there was a need and now we have a great site and magazine dedicated to wakeskating. |

Jake S, over time there wasn't a lot of solid support for unique front page content. Going way back, there's actually some really cool stuff, and i will say danny and aaron let me announce their new company called obscura on here. When alliance wakeskate came along people were more drawn to that than anything on here, and it did not have anything to do with our front page being slow because at that time, i felt passionate about what i did and wrote some in depth stuff i was quite passionate about. I never tried to act like i was king shizzle or was owed anything or was a legendary voice (odd reference), but being in the middle of nowhere helped me recognize my place and i knew i'd never be able to offer certain things, or be seen in a certain way. Anyway, It didnt matter that someone who didnt wakeskate was in charge, people wanted to be on the alliance site, and some still do. Consider it a perogative.
Wsm has a different level of credibility that i've politely recognized a million times, and there was a need for that mag a long time ago. An updated front page here would never substitute that need, and even from my proudest work, i never felt like people came here for the articles. I still have stuff to offer and work on deck, but other things in my life have moved up on the scale. Call it growing up, i don't really care. So now that you got that little dig off of your chest jake, you can finally let that dead horse die. I get it, you think the front page sucks, i understood that awhile ago.
Tad, you may not come here for free exposure, but we are established and its a convenient byproduct. I've supported all of your endevours and hold you in a high regard, and i even have a wsm site link in my signature (on what is now somewhat of a "competing" site), fully recognizing that supporting you guys is supporting a cause that's bigger than any one person or any one ego. Whether you ask for it or not, there are benefits that don't always deserve a smart remark back. Relax, and just recognize when things happen to work in your favor, even if you didn't orchestrate it. Sometimes, thats how it goes.
Obscura, i think there are about three people on here who know what the wake list is. This is how things change! the last thing i remember on there is the wake tv guy going down in flames, calling out shane bonifay for how he held a camera,,etc. I bet i still have that email. And weird aside obscura, but i found this vhs called "support the cause" and that's got to have your first video section ever. You were riding some cassette 3d wakeskates from 02. But currently, that tape is stuck in my vcr. Otherwise i would have made a big deal about it a long time ago. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| electricsnow, No hard feelings, it wasn't a "dig" I used to read the front page on here all the time and I always loved it. But whatever, both sites are great for wakeskating and WSM adding forums shouldn't be that big of a deal. That's all. |
