in the flats is a lot easier...... all u need to do is when u pop... keep ur handle in tight and just pass it around the back..... when u pass the handle... dont lean backwards to grab it or elese u will fall back right when u land back on the water..... do a few on the water just handle passing the with out fins so u can get used to it.... and make sure when u land..... that u dont lean back..

This is what I do:

1. Pop
2. Right when you're popping, pull the handle to your back while at the same time, turning your shoulders away from the boat.
3. As the tail of the board is on its way up to level out the ollie, guide it with your back foot until it's your front foot.

It's hard for me to describe it in steps because it is pretty much one fluid motion.

It's up to you if you want to pass the handle mid rotation or land wraped up, then pass.

In my opinion, it will probably be easier to land wraped the first couple tries so it's one less thing you have to think about. Everyone has different strong points though so do what you think is the best.

Also, follow Andrew's advice about practicing with surface spins to get the feeling of having the handle wrapped and riding switch.

Passing the handle looks so tight when you pop it high enough to pass it by the back of your knees.

But hey, if you can't pop it high enough I can totally understand.

thanks ... and pirate i did ask you but i'm still having trouble... it is the sequence of the trick that i'm confused about it seems like i'd start w/ the pop then turn head, shoulders, then waist/board... i was not thinking about not passing the handle though.. i guess unlesss i did a i/o and was getting air like i'm scoring on the f/s 180.. should i try and learn the f/s 360 first or the b/s 180???????????????????

SCOOP! the whole trick is in the back foot. as u ollie and start turning ur upper body scoop with ur back foot as ur popping. start little and go big. and what PIRATE said is kinda true about the handle pass. the trick looks and feels soooo much better if u land blind and pass it after u've landed or jus surface 180 out of it with no pass at all.

Haha I'm pretty damn good. It's not that I don't like you, it's the shizzle that comes off your fingers that I don't like at times. In the long run, I got nothing but love for the sport and the people in it.
