I was doing landscaping the other day, digging holes in a marsh to plant marsh gras, and I was using an auger to do it. For those who dont know, its basically a drill type thing that bores into the ground and makes a hole. I was htinking that this could be easy to make a winch out of. The blade part comes off with a single screw, and one could attach something to spool up the rope, and you can get it for around 250 online:
I'm not really good with all the technical stuff, so i'm not sure what else you would need, but if there were a way to mount it sideways it seems like it could be easy. _________________ My Pride and Joy

| The only problem with this idea is that the engine is a vertical shaft and if you were to tip it on its side the engine would not run. |

if you built the frame so it supports it vertically, and got the rope to line up correctly, you maaay get it runnin. At least your thinking differently! my 2cents.. _________________
