Ive got a cataylyst 112 and i cant seem to do much other than jumping the wake and grabs on it...ollies seem unstable, and hard...i have wakeboarded for 3 years, and skate boarded for 1 year...i know how to ollie Wink I have tried it at different speeds from 15, to 20 mph...they all seem like the board wants to get away from my feet...Also, i have tried shuvs and that was a no go the first 20 tries...is my board just not up to it?? or is it me?? im 6'4" 200 lbs... also, i still have the fins on if it makes a differance

what year is the board?

ive got both the '04 and '05 and i see a big difference between the two. i could hardly pop ollies and land stuff on the '04 but i got the '05 this weekend and everything was easier. i was popping bigger ollies and landing more consistent shuvs with it.

Switch to either wood or integrity. Hyperlites feel way too much like wakeboards. When wakeskating I love to "Feel" the board beneath my feel. That should help out with the ollies and shuv's and what not.

Dude I just got the 05 Catalyst 112 a couple weeks ago and I have been having the same problems. I used to ride the Hyperlite scape and I had my shuv its consistent on that board and could land a lipslide to shuv out but since I started riding the new board I couldn't land anything. I finally landed my first shuv on the new board today but it wasn't very high off the water.

All boards take time getting used to. Some boards are better than others, and opinions/personal preference is what it all comes down to.

I would say just give yourself time to get used to the board. Also, (in my opinion) most boards, including Hyperlite, seem to ride/respond better with grip instead of foam.

Ollies on a wakeskate are slightly different from that of a wakeboard or skateboard. Watch SNAP if you have it. http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?id=70

Have fun! Very Happy

a guy i ride with rides a cat. and he is a big dude probley 6'2 200 something, like he is a horse and its all muscle. He hasnt been riding that long, but he can do shuvs, ollies, lip slide 90 shuv, and 270 shuv, and blind butter slide 90 shuvs, but he doesnt have fins, i dont like finds either... its alot easier to learn shuvs with out um too... you dont have to pop the board so high at first when your learning....

the aluminum fins on the hyperlite decks dont affect your riding or shuvs that much...
