|
|
this topic sounds all kinds of wrong..
I have been out with Justin a few times and locking down the winch in some of these spots has been a problem. Even with 12 inch stakes we cannot get the winch really locked down. Have you guys built your own stakes? I am thinking about having our shop guy make us some really long stakes with a T bar on the end and also near the bottom so we can drive them in by using a persons weight. Suggestions? |

We always used to use the stakes you used for your form board when laying concrete. They always worked well for me and everyone else riding. I'm pretty sure you can pick them up at any home depot just hammer them in at an angle so they hold the winch down. |

This is kinda different but anyway may help someone.. when we walk around the pond with the rope we need to hold tight when getting the slack out of the rope,, and my little cousin (like 75lbs) was having a hard im holding on.. so we drove a stake (masonry stake) in the ground so he could drop the handle over it and once the slack was out he can grab it and take off. maybe someone has a grom with the same problem.. |

flixmaster, those work great. you can get them anywhere like ace, homedepot, and lowes. they come in different sizes. i use them to anchor down floating rails and bouys. never had one pull out, only had the rope connected break. when that happens, finding the loop head is pretty tough and just a matter of walking around where you thought it was until you stub your toe. onshore would work great to. just get two or a steel pipe to put through the head so that you have leverage to screw it in. |
