| so i'm pretty new to the wakeskating scene and i've been able to get decent air off the wake but trying an ollie in the flats, i can't really get more than a few inches off the water it seems. i tried once to pull my front foot up to my chest and i seemed to get the board a little higher but when i put that foot back down there was nothing but water........ i know you guys have some good tips. thanks. |

small push on the front foot, then immedielty snap down your back foot, level it off, and its an ollie, start small and work your way up. just remember to stay centered over your board _________________ They call me Dr. Jones

dezell25, it takes time to get a good ollie. Part of it is finding the rhythm; kind of like integrity640 described, you push down a little bit on your front foot and then snap down your back foot. As the nose rises, aggressively kick your front foot forward--that motion will level the board off.
One other important aspect of wakeskating in general is figuring out where to look. I generally look just to the side of my front foot, while still looking forward.
Beyond that, it just takes a lot of practice...that's what all of wakeskating is because you have to work a lot harder to learn most tricks. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
