Proline will be offering Winch Spools w/ Handle for 2010. What is your preference of rope, rope length, bridle construction, bar shape (round, tri, squared, etc.), bar length, grip construction (rubber, EVA, LG, etc.)?

-1/8"-3/16" thick rope that is no stretch and FLOATS and a bright color so it stands out in the water
-bright colored, wide, round bar shaped handle that floats and will hold up to some abuse.

I noticed that price is a big deal in the winch market. Most of the people I have seen buy lines are not paying for the spools of rope that Straightline is selling. A person that builds a winch is not shelling out Straightline type dollars for the rope.

Everythings gotta be super durable, handles got to be able to take abuse. I mean the handle for a winch can sacrifice comfort for durability, its not like your pull is going to be nearly as long as being behind a boat.

it wouldnt be smart to have it comboed with a handle. people want choice.
also like flixmaster said, you need to make the price close to what people are paying from supply places. winchers arent going to pay for a name.

NO COATING
I don't care if it lasts longer. It makes for such a shiznackle pull. 1000 feet. Non stretch. Don't really care about the handle as long as it floats ... Like the others said price is a big deal, not much more than a hundred bucks

I understand price is probably the most important factor and this is an item we may sell direct. It's not like our dealers have a winch section at the proshop in the first place. $100 bucks would be hard to hit but I'm working on a competitive price.

yeah, no coating.
around a $100 is where it needs to be. we dont need to pay huge wakeboard margins when we can just find it online. the problem i see for you to sell the rope for 100 bucks is that people will question why you sell 80 feet for 100.

kcjonez, i bought 3mm non stretch 1000 pound breaking strength line from harbor freight for 12 cents a foot.... i bought everything they had in the store which was about 800 feet and nearly a hundred bucks....

oh and i bought this back in 05 and still use it on one of my winches.... i may have had to tie it a few times due to catching on fences and hoping the chain and stuff but that happens lol
