SO i finally got my new engine all mounted and ready to go on the winch and when I tried to pull out the rope its way too hard compared to when I had the 6.5 HP on there.

Any idea?

take the torque converters belt off and put it back on before you start it up. or make a spool lock pin things so the spool can spin without pullin the chain.

taking the belt off and on, on my winch was too much work, and it seemed to fray the belt so I dont do it.

like Alex said, releasing spools work great for this. Or if you take the Tav off you can go with a centrifugal clutch which will be easy to pull out, but not as clean of pull that you will get from a Tav.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll be getting a releasing spool soon.
