why is there a mass amount of people hating on mac

Who knows. They are just scared to admit they are the better machine. But hey, if they want to keep using windows, that is fine with me.

the mac vs pc battle isn't about the quality of machines. it's foolish to think you can't make a mac and pc with the same specs(macs are overpriced though). it's about os. and it's about preference pretty much. i had one guy explain it pretty well as; macs are like expensive sports cars that need to be tuned well and often or they'll screw up and suck. while pc's are like old muscle cars that can take some... crap, but run like... old muscle cars do.
that explanation is kind of bad because... new pc's run as well as new mac's. neither os is really "more stable" than the other. they're both pretty bad.

i think it's preference

and i hate macs.

and its unquestionable that ipods suck and break and are way too hip to not be hated feverishly.

The only benefit I see about PCs is that everything is made for them and more readily availible.

And most people that claim to hate macs have never even used one.

Im not even going to get into this one too much, but i have been on both sides...

But...satori*, You couldn't be more wrong, and the guy that explained that to you was pretty much a idiot that didn't know what he was talking about. Macs are about the most maintenance free machines there are.

You are right about the OS however, PC's are great if you are running Linux or Unix they can be very stable machines, Mac OS is Unix based thats why it runs so smooth with so few problems... Winblows on the other hand is still in the stone ages of Dos and its just not a stable platform by any means of todays standards. Macs are expensive, but like most things in this world you get what you pay for. Wink

Greg T, You are very right especially when it comes to PC users bashing Macs... 85% of them have never even touched a Mac and really know nothing about it.

And for the first person that says Macs are too simple... Explain to me why using a computer should be difficult...

I have never owned a mac because I'm 21 and very poor. But i have used them all the time in high school and college.

ive always hated how theres only one button on the mouses on a mac. how are u supposed to play certain games and stuff?

Any two-button USB mouse works with Macs... right button functions and all.

I have a high-spec PC, but REALLY want a mac, I'm not affraid to admit they are more superior to PC's when talking about multimedia sort of stuff... I also prefer the Mac OS over Windows....
But also Macs are WAY too pricey for me, but still, can dream aobut the dual 2.7 Gig processor! Shocked

you can get macs on ebay pretty cheap compared to mac store prices. i payed 1900 for mine and ive seen a few of the same for 1000-1200.

But really, i want to try one, I hate having to fix my PC all the time, it's too much trouble, and people are saying MAC's are more reliable. After going into a MAC store where you could mess around on the computers, i liked it, it would take getting used to, but i liked them. I want an Apple Laptop Sad

I used a PC forever until a few months ago I got a MacBook because I was tired of all of the problems, so I switched. And I've never been happier with a computer in my life. Hands down the Mac smokes the pc in every aspect so far, I will say it and if you wanna argue with me go ahead, PC's are a more universal machine no doubt. But think of it this way:

If Microsoft built cars, at the point of impact in a collision before the airbag deploys, you would have to answer the question "Airbag deployment, cancel or allow?"

Where as if Apple built cars they would be 10x faster, safer, more reliable, more features and better looking. However they would only run on about 10% of the roads.
