My knees are all jacked up too. Both ACLs have been fixed in the past. Left one snaps, crackles and pops all the time and is sore. Right one is holding up pretty good, wear a CTI on that one.

Blew my ACL and MCl las summer the day before fall semester started! I folded it strappin. Had surgery about six months ago and I'm ready to get back on the water! Actually I did some research and boardsports w/ bindings are the worst on the knees out of all sports. There's a crapload of knee injuries from wakeboarding and snowboarding.

i tore my MCL snowboarding in february, it isnt getting any better. im afraid i may have to get surgery, the orginial plan was it would heal on its own and i wouldnt have to. I am most upset becuase i cant ride my bike.

seven11dmd, how exactly did you tear it?

I don't think I have bad knees per se, but I had a knee mishap in the summer of 2003 and it was basically the worst thing I've ever been through and it broke me down.

electricsnow, well down here in VA you can imagine we dont have the bets ski conditions, the slopes are just pure ice for the most part. board control is hard. i was going really really fast on my heel edge and then caught a toe edge and just slammed myself into the icy snow landing on my left knee, then my right shoulder, and then snapping over and tumbling. i thought i broke my knee and my collar bone. waited some time to get my knee chedked out but when the pain didnt go away i got a MRI and they said i tore my MCL

That sucks. I thought you might have come up short on a jump, but anything can happen. They say that in snowboarding, ACL tears occur most frequently in your trailing leg, due to coming up short on a jump. Supposedly in wakeboarding, you're more likely to tear your front acl..I don't know why, or maybe that's just something I noticed. but the snowboarding factoid is something I read in an acl article...so I didn't make it up, I swear!

anyway, I hope your knee feels better.
