jonnyUTAH...that is extortion

it is called "cyber-squatting"...its not against the law...but it is highly unethical. lol

I was just reading about that in my law class. People actually became millionaires in the early 90's becuase the had the foresight to pay $50 to have famous trademarks registered as their domains---for no other purporse than to extort money. hahaha...it cracks me up that that is not illegal. You would think that if a company has a protected trademark...the right to the internet domain of that trademark should be a given....loop-holes...yeah

"highly unethical"???? I agree; however, such is the basis of free market enterprise.

I'll be honest. One of the R&D guys at work managed to get in real early with gmail when they were first doing beta testing for gmail. I begged him for early gmail invites and he gave me one. As soon as I got some invites I sent them all to myself. Now I whore them out........ free market enterprise my friend. It's what ya know; it's who ya know..........

jonnyUTAH, I did the same thing. Got an invite early on and got a few names that I liked and wanted (no wakeskating names), but then invited others. Now I just give them out to people who want one...and I'll donate a few if Matt runs out, though I doubt that.

HAHAHA...It's True.

My newest scheme involves using free gmail server space to host websites. I spend a fortune each year on hosting fees, so I figure I'll write a script that allows you, with 2 gmail addresses, to have enough space to host a regular website and where your webmail will just be you gmail account!!

I will call it Ghost, as in G-host. Sign up now.

Word!

I want it so that with 2 gmail accounts you could host a regualr site, but with like 5 gmail accounts you could have a full ecommerce/community site that is data driven etc.

One gmail account would host your mySQL database. You would set-up each gmail account as a folder and it would mirror the folder structure of any website.

It would be hilarious if you could configure one account for https: for secure ecommerce transactions.
