Anyone have any experience with the new cassette bi-levels? I've ridden mine for 2 sets and it looks like the bottom deck is cracking through the centerline and the top deck is cracking at the tail past the risers. Any feedback would be appreciated. _________________ "If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins the most? I'd say Flippy, wouldn't you? I had a very bad sealant issue on mine that caused it to delam... I am still riding it and it is now cracking everywhere. But that's because I kept riding it after the delam (still love it lol)...
But it should not crack from the start after 2 sets!
Call or email thomas, he took care of my case and I should get my new decks when Cassette starts sending out their warranty decks, which is soon (1 week)... _________________

There is this little handy option that forums come with now days, it's called search.
Try that, it's only been talked about at least a half dozen times already.
Sorry for the not so welcoming welcome, but welcome. _________________ :colorless: -> http://falic.parsethis.net <- |

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, why do people think these boards are good. They should sell them in three packs like white t-shirts because they don't last very long. Who cares how it rides if it doesn't last more than three sets. I'm not rich but I do make decent money, and there is no way I would waste it on a bi-level.
Cassette should face the facts and go back to the drawing board and get it right or give it up. _________________ Chris

I had the original Cassette 41 that came out late 1998 and I rode that thing for 6 years before it snapped. You would think that Cassette would go back to the same vendor who did the sealant process for them in '98. The LF tech 42 from last year (same as 4 trac) also delam'd after 2 weeks it. Bottom line is that the vendor/supplier of sealants to these companies is sucking wind. But i wouldn't trade a wood skate for a composite one any day of the week. _________________ "If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins the most? libertytatz, this has nothing to do with a drawing board.... it's not related to design.
it's about sealant and as cbsmith999 puts it, it has to do with a crappy supplier
stop being a numbnut and go buy a hype, it wont break...
BiLevels are crazy decks, part of the batch had a bad sealant mix. end of the line _________________

First off I ride an INTEGRITY, Who do you think picked the sealant for bilevels, The sealant fairy? No, Cassette did and I would say sealant is a crucial part of the design process especially on a wooden board. Just face the facts....... YOU BOUGHT MAGIC BEANS....sucker. _________________ Chris

LOL
it has nothing to do with design, it's a bad fabrication choice, and it is not the sealant itself that is the cause put probably the mix%... if it's off the glue never seals, ever.
So yeah, cassette made a BIG mistake there, and they are taking care of it. But that doesn't mean the Bi is a bag of magic beans... ride one, you'll see
I seriously loved my integ, but I can't go back to any other kind of board now that I got used to riding the bi... _________________

I feel ya NEKKIE, I have a magic bean. They said they would send me a new one; b/c the tail is cracked and it's delammed on both rails. cool
The new sealant may keep it from delaming; but I don't see how it's going to keep the tail from cracking again?????????4-track
They might have to redesign that top deck with another ply or less bend on the tails.
After riding a bi it would be weird to switch back to a mono-level.
Long live cassette! _________________ dbanana wrote:

Raven, on my Bi if my tail/nose cracked, it is because I kept riding it after the delam happened lol and it took a LOT of runs before it cracked
When the board delams it weakens everywhere, so it will crack much faster.
If the sealant is good, then it probably wont crack either... _________________
