Im redoing my wakeskate for the spring and i was wonderin if i should get a certain type of paint? if so what type?

also, from bare wood should i put sealant, then paint or paint,then sealant? thanx

I would use car paint( acrylic or polyurethane enamel), and clear coat on top of a color coat, that'll seal really good and leave a nice finish if you do it right

don tforget to primer before paint a non water based primer too

rhodester, go to your nearest boat supply shop and by some polyurethane enamel paint... it works great on skates.... and it doesn't hold you up on rails like other paints

yeah listen to parky he made his own 37 inch LF...jk but yeah just put a polyurethan coat over and over you pant job and it willl be great. when ever i get new wood i put like 4 or 5 coats of clear polyuethane over the o.g. paint job

So can i just use a regular paint and then coat it a bunch with poly?

thats wat i do and my with my 03 thomas i poly it like 4or 5coats and it is still working fine

Jimmy T, I would use polyesther resin and some clamps thats the best fix it'll actuall ymnake the delammed part stronger
