beef with strapers

ive been on this site for awhile, and i've noticed alot of bashing of the bound other half (wakeboarders). Why? I wakeboard and i love it, i would never think of trading in my bindings for full time wakeskating, or vise versa. A lot of people on here say wakeskating is so much better , but how can you compare the two? they're are two different things, one no better or worse than the other, just different.

also, where would wakeskating be without wakeboarding to help pave a path? do you really think the would have been a wakeskating pro tourso soon if there wasn't already a wakeboarding one? and i hate to say it, but without wakeboarding, wakeskating wouldn't have grown at nearly the rate it did. so why does it matter if your straped down or not as long as you're enjoying your riding?

though, wakeskating clearly does have a better commmunity that hasn't been invaded by too many posers, and isn't completely overrun by kent sports.

I like beef, and I like strapping, so It's no problem for me. But from a wakeboarder/wakeskater's standpoint, I have no problem with strappers, the only time I do is when they are ignorant and do It for themselves, the sponsors, and the money, rather than just for fun. Don't get me wrong, doing something you love like skating/strapping is awesome If you get paid for It, but some poeple take It too far. I have respect for so many boarders as well as so many skaters. I wish all the beef between the two would go away and If anything, It should be more like the Real "Ride for fun" boarders/skaters versus the "I want a sponsor" attitude. Just my .02.

hey i got no prob with a strapper cuz i am one, its just a$$holes, not strappers or skaters, just a$$holes i hate. i love to fish to and ive been out fishin b4 and a bunch of a@@holes have to come right to the part of the lake i am when its glass allover the place and keep passing by me.(i castsed a 2 oz weight at their boat on realy light line so the weight would become a projectile, unfortunatly i missed Sad

) Anywho like i said, its just a$$holes, not strappers nor skaters.

Honestly to me its the typical strapper mentality, It dosent even really have anything to do with the pros so much as it has to do with people like hyperlite640, is talking about.

Now that wakeboarding is such a fad, all the kooks/posers go out and buy wakeboards and wakeboard boats with loud stereos to compensate for having a small penis in my book. They are what gives everybody a bad name... they in no way know the rules of the lake or river they are on and they have no respect for others, and it makes all of us look bad.

I take all of this very personal because when im out in the boat i have 3000+ lbs of ballast weight and let me tell you with 10 people in the boat and the ballast full its a LOW RIDER... and these homo's come by and swamp the boat when there is a huge river with miles of flat water...

My solution was try to be nice years ago, i found out quickly that dosent get you anywhere... SO over the years i have found the perfect solution to these idiots I THROW THINGS! unopened bottles of beer, frozen bottles of water...i even thrown a few wakeskate's at a guys boat... i really dont care.

Now i dont recommend this technique to everyone... i have also had my share of fights over the years because of this "still undefeated btw" and almost gotten arrested twice. but until people understand how to respect people and their water ways i will still be throwing potentially deadly objects at your boat when you pass by me.

lmao ef yah SleuCrew, u know what i hate, is on lake austin these college kids got these insane wakeboard boats and like 2000 dollars in gear and they dont do shizzle. they sit in the coves, play music and nothing else. brand new xstars, tige's, air nautiques, just sittin their not doin shizzle. if i had a boat like that id be boardin behind it 24/7. i dot get to go wakeboarding or skatin that much so i take any opportunity i can to go, which means using my dads h.o. skurfer, the one u see eric perez using in retrospect during the interviewe on the dock, and ride in choppy ass water, because i love to ride and am not so fortunate as others to go every weekend. thats my 2 cents worth Very Happy

Yeah we have alot of those guys here too... those are usually the ones i always end up in fights with... For the most part if you correct someone on how to have better etiquette, they will either say thank you and be polite. OR flip you shizzle...

I just look at it this way I am older to say the least and i have been riding and living on the river for most of my life, this is my home. You can either respect it and the people on it... or deal with someone like me that wants to kill you so you can never bump your ricky martin past my house again.

I have NO problem with getting blood on your Abercrombie shorts you just bought with the holes in them Laughing

OHH and the fizzle that throw trash and their beer cans in the water, Pretty much if i see you do something like that i will scream at you... if that dosent work then you can expect a unopened beer or two to come flying past your head or through the windshield of your boat.

Im seriously thinking of investing in a really high powered paintball gun.

Seriously though, you and I have similar theories when it comes to boat purchases. When mastercraft was working on that bigger and better maristar (or something like that) I was like, what's the point in this? Oh yeah, that's right, a small wang.

Wakeboarding is turning into an elitist activity and I hate that. I went to minnesota last weekend and I was talking to a friend of a friend (oh yeah) and he lives near a wealthier city. There are young kids with hummers and brand new boats with the most expensive set-ups crusing the lake. He knew these brothers that both had new boats and new cars...unbelievable. In all honesty, I don't want to be associated with that, and I'd rather do my own thing with my 1000.00 boat on my little lake.

It actually seems like there's a slightly different demographic that's being drawn to wakeskating...like if people are responding to the rider owned movement (and rider owned is the way wakeskating started) then something's definitely different. If these same people were into wakeboarding, hyperlite would not be the power player it is and people would be sick of them. Unless this is all just a tempory thing...kind of like wakeboarding and all of the old, cool companies...but I don't want to think about that. Anyway, with that said, that aspect also gives me more hope for wakeskating...

first off....slue wtf god wtf seriously unopened beer? god just god....finish that crap and fill it with water and duck tape it closed or something but for the love of god no wasting of beer. but yeah i think watarer etiwahatever is very strange. one time we were riding this place that we ride every day and these fishers come up(we had been there for a while, and it was low tide so we had to ride this lil channel and they decided that their flats boat was perfect sitiing in 5feet deep water that we we riding in.. and the channel is only 10 or so feet wide. we pulled up to them and told em that we had been there and that we can only ride here. the old men pointed out to nasty choppy water and said well theres all the water have fun. i went off, i told them to eff offf and every other great vocab word i know and all they did was cast a line at me.... i dont think they understood i was on a jetski and could spray the shat outta of them lol they went home wet and pissed. oh and they were sponcered lol the had a team boat with an assload of nice gear that was now salty muhahahahha
about strappers, i dont strap,never have, but i do have respect for em and they only ones i hate are the ones that sit there and say how easy it is to go pro in wakeskating, but yet they arent pro???

I know exactly what you guys are talking about...on my lake were all really 50/50 with wakeboarding and skating so theres not really any beef between anyone...except for the weekend croud, im talking about the rich buisness guys that buy a new boat or jet ski and hammer around the lake all weekend like hot shots.
Last summer we were skating on a monday morning and there were maybe 3 boats on the lake that morning, my friend fell and i drove up to him and said sit tight ive got to head into the dock to drop a kid off...i left him and went about 200 yards dropped the kid off and came back...i know its not really safe but my lake is pretty much dead on the weekdays. When i went back this old guy in a I/O was floating next to my friend. I went over there and he started bitching me out because i left the kid there for 2 seconds. He had like 10 other people in his boat and there all agreeing with him like i did something terrible...he had a life jacket and a big white board. anyway later that day i was parked at my house and i looked out and he was near my dock looking at my boat and hes talking with all of his friends about how my boat doesnt have numbers on it(i had just got it that year and we didnt get them on yet)
Anyway, i hate old people that go on a power trip over stupid shizzle just to impress their friends
