not bad. were playing around with some of the designs and jus lining stuff up. im still thinking on wether or not to make it a "dual" winch or not. ive jus been really busy with school so i havent worked on it in a week or two.

WaKeSk8er209, I think the dual setup will cause you more headache, than joy, b/c you are going to effectively split your horsepower and torque in half, but don't let me talk you out of something you want to do, those were just my thoughts on it

oh i already looked at all that.. it was just something that came up because we might use the axle from the 3-wheeler with both rims already on it. thanks anyway for your input. like i said it was just an idea..

SDWakeSk8ter, Im located in Devore, CA, it's near where the 215,and 15 meet just north of San Bernardino, as of right now were are looking at 1400 for a winch, so far Our tenative date for completion of a prototype is Feb 1st

Dudes...we made a winch to help pull atv's across a river one time out of an old Honda Big Red 200es ATC. We made a big plat form with the pontoons of an old boat and then we'd drop that thing into first or second gear and pull em on across and it worked great. Somehow my grandpa mounted the atc to an old Flat bed truck that was broke down with no motor so we just hauled it down by the river and set er up....we still got it down in the woods...aint been back there in a few years but ill check it out and get some pics...i think it might actually work to pull sk8ters...never even thought about making on like that before, ull have pics by this summer when i go in to arkansas...the roller we used was 2 of the rollers that you have on the front of your boat trailer where the strap is to winch your boat up onto the trailer...ghetto but it worked...I was young when we made it and all i remember was ALOT of welding...

anyways those were fun times...hunt all day on one side of the river and then cross over to get back to camp

Hey I got news, a local rap group down here in So-Cal called Life Convicts, has agreed to donate a song to our winch teaser, I know "Caprice", he goes to college with me, and this guy has got LINES, L-I-N-E-S!!!!! now if we could just get a good cameraman and editor to "donate" their time LOL Laughing

you can check out their music at www.life-convicts.net BUT I will warn you these guys are mad political, and they are on the same level as Immortal Technique IMO. They also share his political views, so if you would consider your self conservative you might not dig em, but then again if you just like good underground hip hop you might dig 'em anyways like I do. I don't know what song there going to use yet, b/c they want to see our rough footage first, to give us something that will go with the riding really well.

03belmont, I really want to test my prototype before I start taking orders, I don't want to sell a crappy product, I want this thing to live up to everyones expectations, but as soon as I know I will post it, and I would guess, but just guessing they would be available for order, near the end of Feb start of March

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I now have all my parts(except for the rope which I don't need to assemble it), thats the good news, the bad news is I cant work on it this weekend, but the rope should arrive in the mail next week, and next weekend Im puttin that biatch together PIRATE WINCHES is locked and loaded, it's a damned shame I couldn't have it done in time to make the Alliance gear guide that would have rocked, also keep an eye out for my friends shop to hit the net soon too.
