Here comes a new video I made during a week end at the most remote part of Tahiti. All the footage is from the same day and was taken a few months ago.

There is one wakeboarder in it, Manatea. He is 12 and the french junior champ ^^ So you guys will see the gap in riding level between the US and France concerning wakeboarding. I mean kids that are 12 in the US are already soooo good Very Happy

Then u got me, and Ohrel (aurelie) the best rider girl I know! :p

Enjoy!

Hey thanks guys

yeah mana is progressing pretty well lately, and I don't have a clue about what he's riding :p

Kento, my pleasure ^^

And vance I'm strating to try those, but after my shuvs to lip my foot are in a weird position most of time lol. I'm learning to land those with my feet more apart...

Awesome vid Nekkie.Sick backdrop's,good job on the editing, music flows with the footy well.Good riding too, always like your smooth style,I'm amazed you're not more of a surfer [previously] from watching you ride [seeing those reef's break in the background with that glass was making me drool]
Was that side of the island really protected from the trades or was that just a beautifully calm day [or morning]
Tow that skate into any breaks yet?If yes you using a leash? What kind surf or something shorter?I know when I wakeskated tied off to a bridge on a raging river before I just used a bike inner tube for a leash and it worked well, but in the surf you probably want the board a little further away from you.

tribal, skatethewake247, thanks guys Wink

It is in the southern part of the island. Not that many people live there and early in the morning it is always perfectly flat, like 6 to 9 is the best riding time.

I plan on surfing some waves on my skate, and the leash idea is pretty good ^^ I have an old LF just perfect for the job Very Happy Oh and I am starting to learn how to surf!!! heh

During that weekend we rode behind a 2000 or 2001 Xstar, with no added weight. Makes a cool wake for skating Wink

What kind of work can a dude get in Tahiti? Don't speak French, but can speak the English pretty good.

jonnyUTAH, you can always try working for hotels or anything related to tourists that need a good level of english... But still, you'll need to have french basics

vance, I just tried today some shuv to front lip to 90 shuv out and landed it twice ^^ I also landed on the first try a back board to front shuv, and a few times after that. I can't beleive how easy that last trick is, only missed it once the whole afternoon. I need to try new tricks more often Very Happy Very Happy

Itch

You are correct my friend! Now that friends of mine are working in Switzerland for the United Nations because they can speak French, I am kicking myself for not focusing on it. In HS we were given the option of French or German, I choose German and I regret doing so. My problem was that I just don’t like Frogs. French-Canadians can’t drive, smoke too many cigarettes, and are really good at doing stuff. It makes me sick!

Nekkie!

Is Teapoo’h the mega wave in Tahiti? Convince one of your buddies to tow into that wave on a wakeskate. That would be sick!!!

Later Hommies! (I really don’t mind Frogs all that much. They are just really easy to make fun of).
