MTV sucks, but I have heard, the postal service, thrice, marsvolta, franz ferdinand and more on there and I like all those bands, sooo I guess you could say I support bands on an individual basis, but yeah most stuff on mtv un-adulterated crap

I agree, MTV isn't really music television. But at some times early in the morning, they will play some music videos. Although I don't really watch MTV at all anymore, I remember that even bands such as Metallica, Godsmack, Tool, and Nirvana (just some of my favorites) made music videos at one time or another that were shown on MTV. Also, I watched FUSE at my parents house the other day, and they seemed to play some decent music videos, but I guess you have to have Sattelite or Dig. Cable to get it.

I've prettymuch quit watching TV altogether. I think for the most part, it's worthless mind pollution. MTV is one of the worst of them. I don't want to do a powerful electricsnow essay, but they are nothing more than one giant commercial. Every damned thing they do is trying to get you to buy something. They have people who will go to "cool kids" houses and look through their closets, ask them questions, whats cool whats lame etc.. It's so lame. Like 90% of the artists they "feature" (on their daytime schedule) are the bands which get the most "bites" from listeners, and who they can see as charismatic. What kind of "image" do they convey through their music, personalities and antics? How good/crappy the bands are aside, the only reason we are able to see them is because the empty-V douches have determined they will be the most profitable for the next 2 months, and then when they've worn out their coolness, it's on to the next thing. It's such crap.

MTV=Marketing Television.

I think most of the bands they play blow goats anyway.
