I have been wakeboarding for about a year now, but im gettin into wakeskating. I have a hyperlite wakeboard but I heard they don't make very good wakeskates! I looked at integs but theyre a little expensive cuz im just startin out. What is a good board for someone new, around 200 or less. Thanx

I just recently got to fondle all the new LF and Hype skates, and the Hype stuff is about ten times better than last year, and in that price range if you want a concave, your pretty much stuck with a Hype Phriction, or the LF Anthem. These are both wood flat skaets with hard foam concave to save on cost, however after examining both there are two things that I feel make the Phriction better, first of its grip tape not foam grip, and second the foam on the LF is a little squishy, where as the foam concave on the Phriction is so hard you'll wonder if it's really foam. Now if your not limited to concave, then pretty much every brand has a flat skate in that range, with an honorable mention to the K-39 possibly the best flat skate out right now. But dont discount the LF and Hype line b/c they had a bad year in 04, they seem to have learned from their mistakes, every skate in both of their lines is litterally twice as nice, and every skate has been improved in quality, so i wouldn't count them out in your search for a new skate.

Im leaning towards the hyperlite phriction, my board and bindings r both hyperlite and i love em, ive seen some old posts that said hyperlites skates sucked, thats the only reason i took them outa my search. Im glad 2 hear theyve picked things up because id like to stick with the hyperlite brand.

Tell me what you think about the Phriction and what size. I weigh 170 and i am 5'10

depends on if you like kicktails

also be aware that the board is not 105 cm long overall, that is without the kicktails, in reality it is 114 cm

it is much heavier than the gate
