Hey guys, I've been planning on building a lot of wakeskates this summer out of wood, and was actually planning on picking up some marine ply this week. I even bought a vacuum bag to make it easier so I don't need a jig. However, I have come across a material that's a little different then your standard wood or fiberglass. What if I made a wakeskate out of polycarbonate plastic? Possibly the strongest plastic known to mankind. It's used in riot shields and it's bullet proof!
I will be researching this further, however I just wanted to hear your input on what you think of my idea. _________________ 1997 Seadoo GTX |

And on second thought, I'm not sure it would even float. _________________ 1997 Seadoo GTX |

| Maybe use a thin layer as a grind base on a wood deck. |

An all poly plastic board sounds heave as ğck. Like puckhead said, do a wood board and maybe a poly grind base or build it like the Tao with a wood core and wrap it in the poly. thinner on top to save weight but thicker on the rails/bottom fro your grind base and strength _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

That's actually exactly what I was thinking too. Do a wood board with a Ptex base material. _________________ 1997 Seadoo GTX |
