Having not rode behind a wake boat in a couple years had me looking like an goon the other day playing with line length, speed, and weight in my buddies boat to try and get back into the big air groove.
This was also my first time riding the 38" integ behind anything other than my john boat. It was different to get used to riding the little board at speed and going that big (not huge, this picture was with no ballast ) we added both rear ballast at the end of the day and i was getting across it good but camera was dead by then. Gonna head back this coming weekend and get more ride time behind the x14. i spent most of the day just going back and forth and also eating alot of water.
gotta knock down some grabs and 180s and maybe a shuv next time out.
Feels good to get back behind a wake boat after having been so long.
lets see some boat riding pics.
how do you guys fair after riding i/o forever and then going right back into a big wake? _________________ Ross |

That first pic is from no weight in the boat (3 people) @ 65' and 21mph end of the day I dropped back to 70' added both rear ballast and stayed at 21mph. Gonna get behind the x14 agian this weekend and also go ride behind an a22. _________________ Ross |

What's normal rope length behind boat? I ride at 75ft at 23mph. It would be way easier if if shortened it just don't know whats accepted as normal. _________________ ---------------------------

70. No weight. 21.5 for MC 65 if weighted , speed varies dependant on weight dist, and size of MC
MC wake is too abrupt for me , its like a quarterpipe, I feel like when i w2w behind a loaded down mc , i either case the top or land in the trough or flat
70 .any weight amount. 22. for Malibru or axis , best wake shape ever imo
never ride behind any tige or nati's
supra is a weird beast , depends on which one and how its weighted _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

didnt go out on the x-14 this weekend but i did get to ride behind the axis for 2 days
I took your advice poptart 70' and 22mph (gps'd not according to boat) wake was nice and big to land on but i could tell it didnt give the same pop as the MC, and the gap was pretty big, 3rd time across i had it locked in and was having fun boosting a couple different grabs and got a fs 180 wake to wake it was sketchy, i really have to learn work to hold my tricks longer and not extend out too early also i was landing a little heavy on my back foot. I was very happy that i felt comfy basting across w2w and i am ready to go again!
after my one extended set of riding we were onto our main mission which the homemade surf gate for the axis.
which i would say was a success.
here is gary (boat owner) getting some of that huge wake, there is roughly 2 entire board lengths of rideable wave there we could go back much further than this and easily pump back to the boat.
and here is a picture of my girly surfing
any one else get any boat action over the extended weekend? _________________ Ross |
