Hello,
Is it worth buying Remote wakeskate Nick taylor model 38,9"? Ive been skating with LF SST 40,5". Ive tried different wakeskates that are 42", 41,5" and must say i like a shorter board much more.
Trying to improve my skills on flips and shuvets in the flats, SST is awesome w2w. Would the shorter board help? |

The nick taylor is really really small. My borther rides one and I love riding it behind jetski or winch but behind the boat its just way too small. My brother actually snapped one behind the boat but it was like a defect and Preformance ski and surf replaced it. Never had any other issues with the numerous remote boards we've had.
When I ride the nick taylor both my feet are out on the kicktails. I am 6'3'' though. I ride the Leo 39.5 remote most. If you had the chance I would Demo both boards but if you want a board good for wake and still small id go with the leo. _________________ ---------------------------

3 weeks ago I rode one out on my lake and I must say it is one of my most favorite boards I have ever ridden. Im really short (5'3") so this board seemed to fit my stance perfect. The weight was a little to get use to because I usually ride a much heavier board but with a few passes i didnt notice it much anymore. The pop was insane and the board spun really well with shuv tricks. I didnt try any flip tricks because I cant do them but I was really stoked on the way this board performed. Probably the most stoked I have been about a board in a while besides the new Earth Skates decks. Give it a try for sure. _________________ http://www.wakeskateclips.com/ |

Lollar, what's the weight difference between the Taylor and the other Remote boards, is it quite drastic? just curious, here we cant just go to a local boardshop and try em out _________________ AKA Taco

I'm 5'8" and I love the 38.5"
My stance feels perfect on it. It feels great wake to wake for me too.
There is a pretty big difference between Nick's board and Leo's. I liked the thicker heavier Leo, but I had to go with the shorter board. |

I'm 5'10" and I seriously love this thing
The Leo was too thick & slow-moving for me, and the SST is just terrible.
I like the 38.5" (and all the new Remotes) a lot more after taking a handful of griptape & sanding down the rails (edges) to make them a bit rounder. I give it about 3 minutes total on each side, trying to keep the strokes as symmetrical as possible... It makes a world of difference!

nick, you're the man and this is one of the many reasons why I love wakeskating!
what else in the world can you get on an internet forum and ask the general public a question about a pro model that you're interested in, and the actual pro gets on and responds with his honest opinion?

Thanks for all your answers! I'm also 5'10" so it sounds like the wakeskate gonna be perfect for me because i like to skate with shorter wakeskates.
Unfortunately its gonna be really expensive after all taxes to EU(total cost inc. shippping and taxes 650 dollar).

nick, are you sure you want to say: "and the SST is just terrible"?
when SST stands for Shaped by Silas Thurman... Haha!!
Unless Obscura changed the meaning to something like, Slip 'n Slide Technology
I thought my first post was going to be of epic proportion... But I'll settled for this one... _________________ Red sky at night, wakeskater's delight!

I finally bought the board and have now tested it a couple of times. Its amazing how well it tracks in water considering it has no fins. W2w goes extremly easy:D
Totally worth the money! |
