Water temp is at 52 here in SC but I still want to skate all year. I tried my surf boodies but they don't quite feel like skate shoes. Is there a better way? Neoprene skate shoes? I ask because I'm a cold-a-phobe...[/list] |

What Mitch said. Those 3mm socks are a god send. Skating with numb toes is horrible. These things keep you nice and toasty. I love mine. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

i love the "cold water action"......these booties are what i use too.
u can get them in 3mm or 5........if they are too big.....try removing the sole of your shoe.....at least thats what i do when i rock the 5mm.
don't let the cold water keep you on the shore..... _________________ dbanana wrote:

I have a pair of shoes one size larger than i normally wear to accomodate neoprene socks in the winter. I also have my "winter" handle which is the smallest diameter i could find to make it easier to hold on while wearing neoprene gloves. _________________ Bindings? The most thinking that me/my crew has really done is to eliminate 5mm gloves because they're too thick and make it hard to hold the handle. I suppose you can even go as far as ripping the padding off an old handle and adding some baseball bat type of grip to it so that it's super thin, but doesn't ruin your gloves.
But yeah, the 3mm Oneill booties have treated me well over the years... _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

Accounting for neo thickness was my blunder on my first purchase. I lucked out on the booties because they just barely fit my feet and into my shoes. Buti have a pair of gloves i've never used because they're so thick i couldn't hold the handle. This past fall i used yellow dish washing gloves and they were a cheap alternative. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
