Hi I'm new to wakeskating and I'm trying to purchase a board for this summer.
Basically, what I would like is a wakeboard with no straps. I like the idea of doing skate tricks on a water board, and I'll most likely get in to that in the future, but for now I would just like something to carve on. I'm experienced on a wakeboard and I have ridden a wakeskate before so Im not a noob
My first question is the size. I've looked at a bunch of size charts but I'd still like to ask you guys. Im a short guy with a small build. I'm barely 5'7 and I clock in around 140lb give or take 5lbs. I read that a longer board is better for carving and what not, so I was thinking about getting a 42" rather than a 40". Which one would you guys suggest?
secondly i'm trying to buy one with foam grip because I want to ride barefoot. But im having trouble figuring out which boards have foam and which have grip tape. for example this board here http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_11151_10001_994272_-1?cid=chanintel_google&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=994272#.T9jJjhceNIo
It says "with foam" in the title but in the description it says "Deck comes with applied die cut EVA Grip, with deck concave. The grip offers time tested grip and control of the deck."
What's the deal with that?
Also would you suggest a a 3 stage rocker, a smooth curve, or a mix?
If anyone could link me to a cheap (<$130), curved, 40-42inch, foam gripped wakeskate i would be forever thankful.
Thanks! |

EVA = foam grip
You would prolly be solid with a 40..42 would be a boat for your size. _________________ if theres no future in it, at least theres a present worth remembering.
