My best friend at home is a wonderful lad named Nick Saunders. Some of you have had the pleasure of meeting this laid-back, fun loving guy. He's been having a lot of health issues for the past 9 months, he's been diagnosed with something called Scheuermann's disease. Basically it's a severe contortion of the spine that cause quite a bit of pain. He's had to quit the lacrosse team at school, and unfortunately wakeskating too. More recently he's had to wear a brace for most of the day to avoid the pain. A few weeks ago we got to try to take a set together, and while painful he said it was more than worth it. Today, my champ of a best friend stomped his first kickflip in ages, and wow did he stomp it.
Love you bud.

The Kid, I'm sorry to hear that about Nick but I'm also glad he's got a friend like you.
The kickflip was so clean and I'm glad I got to see it.

Mad RESPECT to Nick....in 1999 i was diagnosed with a accelerated case of degenerative disk disease, along with 3 other crazy named things, So in other word's my body is eating all the cartilage from inbetween all my joint's and bone's and lead's to ton's of pinched nerve's with numb limb's. in 2009 After haveing major lower spin fusion and learning to walk again i was stripped from my one tru life enjoyment's of skateboarding. Four surgery's later with lord know's how many still togo I fully feel for any one who has to live with any kinda spin ailment to were even the simplest of thing's like just trying to get a good night's sleep are almost impossible. It's hard for a athletic young man to be told this kinda thing is wrong with his body and a very mentally trying thing for anyone to go thru.Keep your head up Nick and if you ever need to talk to an old fart hit me up....And Kid see you soon bud.... _________________ "a bad day behind a handle is better then a good day behind a desk"..... |

Since I've had multiple surgeries on my spine & had the docs tell me I can never do high-impact sports again (including wakeskating), this is inspirational to me. Big respect & admiration for Nick. You too, sprocket. _________________ Life is short - live every day to its fullest. |

I have mad back problems myself (not to his extent) and I hurt myself now almost every time i ride. Wakekskating is so rad that no matter what you still want to go ride even knowing that youll be hurting for the next week. props to your boy |
