I thought this board was a joke too. Are your toes and heels supposed to just hover off the sides???? Not sure what rich was going for here. Mojo; what are you talkin about w tunnel Finns??? _________________ Without water one cannot live.

Rich Facciano is the man. The Delta section in Switch 22 with Corey Kraut and Darin Rayzor is one of my favorite sections of all time.
But anyway... Have you met buts like Scott? |

I hate you so much for posting that. It reminds me of how much fun the forums were back then and how much everyone was amped on the industry. People couldn't WAIT to see prototypes or new graphics at the PWT stops. Now? Eh...that shape sucks. Next!
I shouldn't say that, though, because wakeboarding really hasn't done anything quite as 'exotic' as putting a skateboard shape onto a wakeskate.
mojo, we've certainly had our difference of opinion in the past, but it's nothing worth fighting over. If you're gonna make wakeskates then do it because you honestly want to do it, and not because you feel the need to prove that someone on the internet is wrong. But at the same time remember that everyone has a slightly different take on what they think is the 'right' shape, so bagging on someone else's design may not be the best way to go about things.
And yes, Rich Facciano is the man. Any OG that's still interested enough in the sport to test new shapes is OK in my book. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

I had a bad week, and retract my Macho Internet fighting. However, aside from the physical violence I stand by everything I said. I have only seen a few pics/vids of rich, only memorable one was switch 22. Anyways. Realize water is not concrete and the tiny tail won't work. Could tricks be done on it, some ya. But it's not ground breaking. One thing I think would be "good" is for Ronix to allow different duros in the boomstick. And after longboarding I now realize why I think new made the top deck of their old bi larger. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. For the record...
Went and rode with Rich today. He is shredding that board. nothing "inconsistent" about it.
It's all about what feels good to each individual rider. Glad to see board builders thinking outside the box and trying new things. |

Hey slap down. I think it's cool. Your leg has 3 pivot points the hip the knee and the ankle. 4 if you include your toes. The board looks like it makes you use 3 maybe 4 pivot points when you pop. I now see why rich is so well known for his style. He uses more pivot points which makes him look and be less stiff. Can you do toe side Mellon back 180's higher than the tower off the double up? Can you kick flip 2 and a half some times 3 feet high in the flats? Can you shape your own wake skate? Well Rich can. Maybe you should learn how to. Then maybe you can tell Rich what a good wake skate looks like and what a bad one looks like. What's pitiful is to have barely any involvement in something and have a negative opinion on it. _________________ Its all wood, in da hood |

i rode an Original deck at the last convergence and its was the most solid deck ive riddin. loved every second on it. im not sure if it was the same as the gnarly rocker you were talkin about a few posts earlier and it wasnt the skate deck one. now this is comin from a former bi leveler. now on hype and byerly wood. in which i had 4 go out in the first sesh or two this season, one blew out the top concave after the very first crash at wow. and one broke in half on the second sesh. had two obscura decks blow the second and third sets. must of just been a bad batch or my fat ass and horrible style. just picked up a water monster. love it. on my third set on it and it has the same solid feel. (easy "legit" wakeskate cops) i mean in the way of it feeling solid, not the ollie or rocker. i think its cool so see new things in wakeskating. try it first before you go all 4 eyed internet dork watchin the berrics so you can seem like a cool wake/skateboarder to your friends with an opinion of solid gold. same thing with music...if you dont like the song, dont listen to it. turn it to a song you like and dont talk shizzle about the one u just heard. dont just sit on the internet and talk shizzle about everything you havent seen, heard or tried before. just skate.
and nothing against kids with glasses or kids that watch the berrics.
or against kids with "negative" opinions. thats what sites like this are for i think, but i think more constructive criticism would help wakeskating alot more. |

New Wakeskates, I'm not trying to verbally attack your friend. I'm sure he can kickflip over twenty of my faces. If he likes that shape (which I still think is wack), more power to him. I also am not trying to say he's stupid or a crappy person. From what you've all said, he seems like a great guy. Furthermore, Melon bs 1's are hard, and I can't do them, let alone ts in out. That's cool that he can. However, I can shape my own wakeskate. I have a good amount of knowledge in this field, both through trial and error, and through questioning my own ideas. 'Will this work well?' 'Why or why not?' 'What problem does this fix?' 'What will it feel like?' 'What exactly will the result change?'
I'm sorry, but I just don't see any reasoning in that board design. _________________ - Evan Molina |

Its cool man i just feel the amount of research and design that's happened in this sport is minimal compared to surfing and skate boarding so it's good to see people trying new things. I feel you gotta listen to the song before you change the channel _________________ Its all wood, in da hood |

WAKESKATE WEDNESDAY!!!
The LP is excited to announce the addition of Original Wakeskates to the shop. The man behind Original Wakeskates is westcoast wakeboard and wakeskate Legend Rich Facciano. He has put his heart and soul into these boards and worked closely with master shaper John Ruark to perfect his "Original" shape. Rich still skates the CA Delta everyday, following his passion to not only be on the water, but offer something back to the sport he loves.
First 3 orders ship with a free Original T as an added bonus Support the Rider Owner and Operated Companies!
We will also be having a kick-off Demo Day/BBQ at Orwood Resort on Monday, May 7th from 12-6 to celebrate. The Liquid Playground will be providing a boat, along with Rich's ski and winch for you to try out the complete Original wakeskate line-up. Official FB event page will drop later tonight with all the details.
Congrats on your new company Rich! Can't wait for the 7th!

awatts, I have one board from Rich that I got last season and it has a VERY extreme rocker. Did he mellow it out for these boards? _________________ if theres no future in it, at least theres a present worth remembering.

He did for sure! I personally didn't feel at home on his rocker from last year. He busted his ass all winter and came up with a new rocker that I felt was very snappy. A ton of us rode them at Convergence and I'd say almost everyone was stoked. Much more responsive and comfortable than the previous design. _________________ Love Life
