Sounds kinda silly you have to jail break you phone just to use it to its fullest extent. Doesnt jailbreakin void the warranty? Assuming apple even provides one.... It does sound like an iphone has the possibility to have some of the features of an android but to go through the trouble and risk of jailbreaking it seems a bit stupid.... what if something goes wrong? is the phone done for? Im not entirely familiar with jailbreaking.

-Yes, Apple offers a warranty. They're very generous about replacing things under warranty, too.
-There is little risk in jailbreaking your phone. It's basically the same as rooting your Android.
-To an extent, jailbroken phones are "legally" covered under warranty, but Apple isn't going to be very excited about helping you fix it.
-If something goes wrong with your phone (or any other Apple product) there's probably a few articles about it written online. As much as I hate Apple fanboys, they're usually pretty good about buying stuff on the day of release and finding (and resolving) pretty much every issue. This is partly why I've never been an early adopter of first generation Apple products- I like to let others sort out the issues so I don't have to.
-iPhone can do almost everything that an Android can. Ultimately, they're similar enough that unless you NEED flash you can just worry about other things like physical size, carrier, etc.

If anyone gets caught using a jailbreak while trying to use the warranty, I'm sorry but they are idiots. All you have to do is restore the phone which is easy and can be done at least 3 different ways.

I'd like android users try to walk into an android store... Wait nvm

POPTART, nice screenshot. Cool

I can do everything you just mentioned on my iphone and I never buy anything off itunes, haha.

My favorite thing about the iphone is the camera. I can go from the black lock screen to shooting a photo in literally 2 seconds. It's nice for winch/road trips when I'm passing a spot or something cool and can take a photo of it and bookmark the location in just a few seconds. From what I've seen, the camera on the 4S is insane.

I don't play with that many games or apps on my phone since I'm not in school anymore and actually have to work, haha.. so the iphone is perfect for me. I've got my music and photo apps and can post stuff on wesubsist from my phone. It's fast and it works well between my imac and macbook pro.. I do wish it had flash and sometimes I hate ATT, but I've loved every iphone I've had. My roommate has had a few androids over the years and I can see how those phones work better for other people, I think it's all about what suits your needs. Sorry I'm not as techy as these other dudes..

Also, a screenshot from my background... with a photo I took with my iphone. Cool

I think I'm just gonna try out the Iphone. I have a 32GB Ipod touch I'm gonna sell and should be able to get about $100 for my droid. That should cover the cost of a new phone. I just need to decide if I want the 4s or the regular 4. Probably just the 4. Thanks for the input.

You're right about that! To be honest, I bet you'd like either of the phones and since you're not partial to anything it'll work out.

No such thing as 4g right now. T mobile has the fasted overall network in the us. The 4s has Siri voice command which is its main new feature. I think droids are ok and some of the screens are larger, but prefer my iPhone 4 still. Sad thing is keeping my i4 in an otter box takes away its sleekness and the fun of holding it.

Mines naked.

Very Happy

I am going to keep it forever so why does it matter what it looks like?

If all you do is read all of the Apple PR-speak then sure. Laughing The new camera and dual core processor will prove infinitely more valuable, though. Apple just wants you to pay attention to Siri because they dumped a ton of resources into it.

Also to the average customer siri is much more appealing because the are not cosmetic upgrades.

My contract isn't up so I'll stick with my trusty 4 and wait for 5 Smile

anyone have the iphone 4 with sprint? im thinking about getting one. it will be my first iphone, or smart phone. Ive got a choice between that or the HTC Evo 4G. the HTC seems too complicated for me though. Im comfortable with the ios system from having an ipad.

No it is not like putting a wakeskate in a bag. It is like resealing your wood concave. You are just making sure the inevitable doesn't happen.

You obviously haven't broken a touchscreen before. that is the main reason people put otter boxes on their smartphones b/c YOU WILL DROP IT...the question is when and are you lucky enough that it doesn't land directly on the screen.

Otterbox is like a condom. Touch screen cover, port covers, and front camera cover. And rubber and plastic to absorb impact. iPhone's are made of glass. They do hold up, but like a beer bottle sometimes it'll break dropping it on the floor and sometimes it won't when it hits concrete at 60mph. I prefer to keep my 600-800$ investment safe.

Yeah, that was a terrible comparison. I just dont use cases. I've had ipods and phones all are beat to hell when I'm ready for something new. I hope this conversation doesn't damn me to a broken phone.
