This board has had 6 different types of lock-ins over the last 4 years, none of them were as solid as these...

Derek Seaman gave me these one day when I went over to his spot to ride, he's been messing around with all different kinds of lock-ins and he wanted me to give these ones a proper test. All I had to do was cut the one end down (it was diamond shaped) and grind it smooth...
I was so tired of all the urethane nugs breaking and my homemade iron had too much drag. I think I can say I've tried everything that's out there, and these are the best nugs I've used. They ride easy, lock-in solid, and they'll never break.
And yeah, I love still being able to ride a board I've had since early 2008 (before FunBoots!/before I ever won a Toe Jam) _________________ √ |

| i noted these back in your post of board collection on ur wall. so these would be quite permanent nugs right? not easy to remove and ride without? and again, about how far back from the nose are they? 10"? |

Nick,
you don't ever have trouble with those things "grabbing" and sticking on boxes and rails with composite decking? I had some metal "nugs" but they didn't always want to slide smooth, and sometimes they would just spit me out. Scary on a long rail... |

senza wake, I have them on permanently, but they are actually more removable than most other nugs I used, since I would usually epoxy those on after tightening the bolts... You would just need to fill the holes with wax when you take them out to ride... They are 10 inches (1 shaka) from the nose, and 9 inches apart.
dscsk8er55, Thanks, I was actually having trouble figuring out what they'd be called.
poopiepantz, I guess it's just like anything else. You're either doing a bluntslide on something that slides smooth or you're doing a bluntslide on something that takes a little more intention to put it through the whole thing. Rough concrete is the only thing I've found that these won't blunt...
If you are sticking on trex rails, either wax it up a little bit or take another look at your form. I used to have trouble doing frontboards on concrete, but then I realized you just have to put that extra friction into the equation when you come at it and account for it with how you put the board into it... _________________ √ |

If you have the option of dropping your trex rail in the water during the weeks, you can get a nice alge layer built up on them which keeps them sliding great
its like a fine wine
you must age your rails _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |
