Like the title says, looking for a 2003 Cassette 41. Thomas' transformer deck.

Who's got one they are willing to part with?

damn, you just missed the one seaman was selling.

Are you going to ride your mcguckin, or are you just trying to put the series together? I just sealed up a kovacich to ride while I work on my 4-trac and it's a lot of fun. It's weird riding a board that's so small compared to modern boards but I still dig it.

Anyway, good luck on your search! If you're persistent you'll find one becuase they have to be out there!

Sorry steven--hijack comment:

I'm in the process of glassing it...or whatever. I do have the west system resin because I've used that in the past, but have not started the glassing process. do you have any recommendations for the weight of fiberglass I should use?

i would go with 1.5 ounce mat so you only have to put one layer and youll know itll be strong. are you glassing over paint or straight wood? wood is better, paint is ok to but i like to just DA sand the whole thing when its done and make it baby ass smooth and then spray it what color you want.

Yep, I'm removing the paint to make sure everything bonds as best as it can. I know eventually my board will break but I really love riding it and want it to last as long as it can.

How do you feel about two layers (like vertical and horizontal) of a lighter weave, vs your 1.5 oz mat suggestion? My brother suggested the former because of the addition of weight and such, but this is all new territory for him also.

that would also work esnow...i know that i have never done that before but i know pleny of people who have doubled and triple layered with like 3/4 oz mat. just make sure that you dont put to much resin on the top side of the deck you dont want it to puddle up in the middle of the concave. but yes that would work just fine, we once worked on a commercial long line boat that had 57 layers of 2 oz cloth on both sides of the wood hull. so i think two would be just fine. if you have any questions about mixes or hardeners or anything like that let me know. west system also has a few different color pigments you can add to the resin which may make it eaiser to find your high and low spots when you go to sand and get it smooth

poptart i would try using awlgrip paint or interlux paints. they are both epoxy 2 part paints and will never peel back, i promise lol

what alot of people dont realize about painting wakeskates is that you have to treat it like its going to be submerged in the water forever. so you want to take a boat for example and use the same kinda stuff you repair and repaint boats with if you want it to last. west system, awlgrip and interlux are the three best names in boat paint and fiberglass resin, in the water the only thing that lasts is epoxy
