i got some grip burn, but kept riding for a few days following it.

then it got infected, now i have to wait even longer for it to heal then i would have if i wait. usually it wouldnt matter but its on my elbow and wont fully close up. Rolling Eyes

i don't think it would matter for most people, but our lake is very dirty. lesson learned.

Always have neosporin and a plethora of diff. Sized h20proof band aids in my boat bag. Also, if the water is that dirty to infect grip burn it may be unsafe right now. I'd have it tested.

Lake Jordan used to be nasty due to the fact the community was throwing their trash in the water. They said pregnant women couldn't eat the fish. In the past ten years they have tried to clean it up. Tons of trash have been pulled out of it.

that's crazy man. I had some in the exact same spot as yours about the same size. takes forever to heal there, especially when you keep riding. left a nice little pink scar.
