Okay guys, like I said in the title, today was my 1st day out. I know its super late, but I live in minnesota, so its cold, and i've been busy. so, on to my problem. I tried for probably an hour today and I couldn't get up. I did not understand it, I have wakeboarded, and wakeskated for the past 5 summers, so I know the basics. One question I have is i'm wondering if my board is waterlogged, and if that could have something to do with it. I have a hyperlite scape from 3 years ago, and its gotten alot of use. could this be part of the problem? I have also gained 20 lbs since 3 years ago, but I got up fine last year too. its a 107cm and i'm 6'0, 200 lbs. is this board to small? please help!

board length should be fine.....just take your time getting up....dont flop all around crazy like....nice and smooth.

check list.....

- make sure the boat has plenty of horse power and is running good.......

- make sure your not pushing to much water in front of you......i.e. dont point your toes to the sky and pile up water in front of you.....try to push them forward toward the back of the boat and skim a little longer before you get up. (forward speed=lift)

- keep your knees closer to your chest and in the sitting position a little longer while your working on keeping your toes toward the boat....

- start from a dock once so at least you get to ride....dont be too proud. lol

- make sure your hair is combed too......there may be some chicks watching...... Cool

good luck.

Thanks for all the positive responses guys! and maybe i'll just have to blame it on the board, so then I have a reason to reward myself with a new one. Cool
