Hello wakeskating.com. Ive been posting regluarly on wakeboardwinch.com as prairiewake and just creeping on here so figured I should join in on the fun. Anyway this is my fifth build first time building a bottom spooling winch. I had everything lying around the house so all in all it was about 15$ for some lock tight and the odd bolt.
hows the bottom feed work for you? made more sense to me with the engine configuration bolting to the TAV. I ended up following the majority and my winch is top fed.
SwissArmyKnife i havent had any problems with the bottom feed. i use one stake to secure it most of the time and there is no difference with the pull. when the winch is strapped (ie. to a tree) the torque of the engine wants to push the back down rather than up and in combination with the low height of the fair lead the winch does not jump around as much. I havent used it in a hitch yet but i reckon it would be no differnt than a top feed.
