took my dog Buster to the vet today to get a small bump on his gum removed and the doctor seems to think that it is Fibrasarcoma cancer...which is a form of cancer that doesnt show its face until its really bad. so this is about the most devistating news i have heard in years. they sent it out for a biopsy and i am hoping that it comes back negative. they said if it is cancer it will be back soon and the only way to fix it is to have a very expensive 8,000 plus dollar surgery which i will def. have if that will take care of it.

i feel like this year has already started off to be the worst year of my life. my dog is the coolest dog in the world and he dont deserve this shitt. but oh well we will see what happens just let me get everyones prayers that its not cancer. thanks a bunch guys

here he is

I can't play it down but this sort of thing happens. My cat died in early december and it all happened really quick. What sucks is that even though pets are "animals" they mean just as much as true friend, so it's really hard to lose them. But at least you have some answers--that sort of closure or direction for a course of treatment can be comforting. The vets around here can only speculate and you pay for everything. Originally they thought my cat would be OK but overnight she took a turn for the worse and then died in the afternoon. Ultimately they thought she had some sort of cancer, which I will never know. The one thing I have is that she was in horrible shape, but once I showed up to the vet she perked up when she heard my voice, and she sat really nice with me before it seemed like she wanted to leave and die.

So all that said, I understand how you feel and I hope things somehow turn out for the best.

yeah well i hope he doesnt take a turn for the worse, he seems like he is totally healthy and happy but the vet seems to think that this bump was cancer. hopefully he is ok, thanks for the kind words.

After losing two dogs to cancer and racking up a small fortune in bills. This time around with my dog I got dog insurance. Its great I pay $25 a month and they cover 90% up to $15,000.00. something that dog owners should look into.

coricluster, I hope everything works out man, I've been there.

I hope everything went well with your best friend. Just got mine back from surgery. I'll post some pics tomorrow. He can still hear too Laughing
I value my dogs life over many humans I've met in life.

man i am actually going back tomorrow to get the last check up. he healed up very well, hair is taking forever to grow back. they had to remove the lower back portion of his jaw and i got a call the other day from the surgeon and they said results show that they got all the cancer out. so hopefully thats the end of it. just regular check ups every six months to check for anything else.

it is crazy how attached u come to them. its just crazy, id do anything for my dog. i hope yours does well...
