| Im still trying to perfect the ollie myself and I have found the biggest limitation for me is not how hard I can push down but how fast I can bring my feet up, especially my back foot. Try watching your back foot next time you ride and see how high your bringing it. |

Remember that power is less important than finesse and proper timing

| when i see guys learning they seem to put so much energy into pushing the board down, but they forget a huge part: you need to pick your feet up. the board will only go as high as your feet. after you snap an ollie you have to get your feet up to let the board come up. the board will go as high as your feet are. |

| Put something small that floats in the water to practice ollieing over… I always pull people through our slalom course so they can ollie the buoys.. something in your head will make you ollie better if you have a target. |

To me, I found that the fastest way to progress with most things in life is to slow yourself down. Think about what is happening, roll your back foot into the water and lift your front (and back) foot up accordingly. It happens with all tricks, there is a cause and effect. It's just about being comfortable with your surroundings and allowing yourself to flow with the trick. _________________

to learn anything new:
Get up , cut out of the wash a few feet, wait for speed to get consistent
slight heel edge
then flatten off
try the trick
(fall or land)
try and remove all the variables you can
if you throw the trick in the same spot, same speed, first thing you attempt
you can really start to slow it down and feel the difference then your not flailing around trying ollies all over the place , sometimes with rope slack, sometimes with no slack, right next to the wash , all the way out , when your fresh , or tired
its hard to learn the feel when it feels different every time
johhny bravo and nick have it
slow down
less force , more meditation
happy landings _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

Can't emphasise this enough, I spent a long time trying to figure it out myself, stamping down as hard as I could and not really progressing.
It's a rhythm and technique, keep trying, you'll get it. |
