While I do not disagree with the fact that rapper or NFL players should not be walking with guns when they have more money than we can even dream about and could easily hire a bodyguard ( shout out Big Black haha) you have to think about the environment that most of these people, who are getting these charges, come from. If it were not for sports or rapping, lets face it, they would probably need that gun that they were carrying. Most of the arguments that come from this are from white suburban people. You will hardly ever hear a real rapper or another football player who knows what its like to grow up wher they have speak badly about someone with this charge. Im not saying its ok or we should look past this but im just giving another side of it. You never will see Peyton Manning gettin a gun charge!

Also for rappers, this is great marketing and business tactics.

Twenty one..I totally agree..may i add hes not an ordinary "rapper" Grammy's, rolling stone cover, espn guest..etc...It goes on and on..maybe if people actually took the time to understand that they wouldn't be as judgmental.

twenty one, When you get convicted of a felony, and a judge sentences you to jail time... that is pretty much all that needs to be said... Ignorance isn't an excuse, and in other words... I can care less what kind of person Lil Wayne is. I'm sure he can be a great guy, and probably is to his close friends... but look what he raps about, and you said it yourself, you don't see Peyton Manning getting any weapons charges.

You know why? Peyton Manning isn't a moron!!! hahah Seriously though, You can never give anybody the benefit of the doubt if they are guilty. Look at Gilbert Arenas last year with the guns in the locker room, and then Mike Vick a few years ago. Mike Vick went to jail, got out, and redeemed himself in the NFL and that is a great thing to see.

Right now though, Lil Wayne has done nothing but get worse musically, and from the looks of it, wishes he was Tupac... but he doesn't even come close.

It really doesn't matter though, Wayne is truly a success story and even though he missed a year of his life because he made a bad decision, he will still live the life a rock star... and Peyton Manning isn't a rock star. Peyton Manning is a class act.
