I have about 3 months left until I can ride and starting to look into getting a jetski to ride behind I have a limited bank account so cant afford a rad boat set up but would like to get a good ski. I know the wake edititon 4tec is the way to go when it comes to skating cause of the high rise pylon and what not but was wondering what other ski's people are using? Any info would be great thanks!

i dont own a ski.. but as far as a pylon goes.. you could buy or have one built for any ski. any welder/fabricator could hook up one really easy… probly cost like $150- $200 to have built..

good luck!

The pole is not important at all. The wake is what you need to look at.

You don't have to have the pylon...Also sea doo is not the "way to go" in every circumstance. Shop around and see what all's out there...

the new 4 stroke skis suck for bigger guys if u live in a state where u have to have a driver and a spotter. i am like 190 and ride a bi level and its like super hard for me to get up behind a wake edition with 2 people on it....but RC has an older 2 stroke ski that he can pull huge guys behind it for days....dont know if ur a big guy or a little one but figured id put in my two cents

2008 Yamaha FX Sho - It gets the job done good...I bought it used this year. Cruise assist is so nice to have when pulling...

2007 Seadoo RXT 215. It's the 3 seater supercharged, with a BOV. Really helps when pulling because your excess boost pressure is dumped instead of surging. Throws a nice sized wake, too.

The only ski I have access to while at my houseboat is a pair of older '93 2stoke Seadoo gtx's.

now we barely give these things enough love on the maintenance side of things (yearly pump service, fill with oil, fill with gas) they are old, top out at like 35mph, buuuut they pull me up (and at one time I was 195ish lbs riding a catalyst 112) and have pulled up my cousin who is 6'6 and around 240 or so.. likely more.

took a little bit to get his fat ass up but it got him there once i gave him some tips.

also the thing throw a nice I/O wake too.

not one of mine but its the same thing.

thanks for all the input guys! I will have to look around on craigslist and see whats going on in my area. I live out in Denver so most of the places there are to ride you need a 3 seater to have a driver and spotter so will be lookin for a 3 seater. As far as the 2 smoke/ 4 i will have to ride behind a 2 stroker before makin my decision only ridden with the 4tec haha.

kawi979, 4 stroke yamaha is the way to go. Definetly stay away from late 90's - early 00's Sea Doos, they are notorious for having many problems..
