Hey, new here. Been wakeboarding for almost 10 years, with about a 4-5 year gap in the middle due to health issues, non-wake injuries, and the resulting obesity. I suck pretty bad but love every minute of it.

Just picked up an 09 Hyperlite Scape 107 to give this wakeskate thing a try, and Friday I'm heading out to the lake for a one-week vacation. I've been reading a lot about how guys like me grab their first skate just to mess around, and end up spending more time on the skate than the wakeboard, kind of wondering if I'll be lumped into that group. It looks like a blast, seems like a mellow, laid back style of riding, which I'm all about.

exactly, this is my third season to focus on wakeskating and to be honest the first two i had nothing to show for it, but wouldn't want to do anything but wakeskating still. then all of a sudden the flood gates opened this season and i;ve dialed in more tricks this summer than the past two combined and figured out that i could love wakeskating more than i used to

Well, got out there this past weekend and week, and I love it. Very different feeling from wakeboarding. Much more...."slippery"....Loose I guess. Still getting used to it. Had the board fly out from under me the first couple times I tried a lip slide, but really enjoying it. Love the freedom. Love that when you catch an edge, it's not a body slam, you just go flying into a crash mat (by comparison). Smile Been out at the lake all week and have ridden many times, but only been on the wakeboard once...rest of the time's been all 'skate. Laughing
