This is just incredible. I posted a photo here awhile back where some guy set up a pinhole camera and took a 6 month long exposure of a bridge. It was so cool because you could see how the sun's path changed over the 6 months. Here it is.
Well, it turns out there's someone doing even longer exposures than 6 months (!!?). He recently did some 34 month long exposures for the Museum of Modern Art in NY while they did some reconstruction.
Here's one of the shots. Like the previous shot, you can see how the path of the sun changes with time. And since the exposure is so long, you can see sorta see 'through' the building in a sense because different parts of the building exposed in different amounts as construction progressed. There's a few more on the blog post along with a more detailed explanation. I highly suggest checking them out http://itchyi.squarespace.com/thelatest/2010/7/20/the-longest-photographic-exposures-in-history.html

Wow... The artistic performance is amazing, and technically that's crazy.
How did they shoot that? I can't imagine the hassle... the rumours say that the only way was to use an iPhone... _________________
