colorless, thanks dude, me too, hopefully Ill have it sorted out by the weekend Confused
catalyst112, WOW, good luck, I realy hope that someone outdoes me after this, and builds one for even cheaper, so far looks like your going to beat me too it. Crazy Eyes
CABLERIDER, actually I didn't; however I didn't research it as thouroghly(sp?) as I researched the winch, but I didn't see any patents for anything refering to a wakeskate. Confused
Woodisbest!, Thanks, I was planning on checking that, but I really felt the uspto was more useful, b/c rewind is a US company, but I will check there as well, thanks for the tip

well Im looking at mine being about 1100 dollars, as opposed to the 2600 for rewinds, however mine will have a bigger engine a hydraulic clutch and a gearbox, as well as possibly a brake system, soooo I think it's worth more, but it sounds like Catalyst112 is your best bet, since his are only costing him 300 to build

I'm guessing that Catalyst112's winch won't be any good. I don't think it will be as durable as the one in rewind, nor as much power. Just for supplies of ok winch materials that will work is estimated at over that price....so no way in my opinion.
But if Catalyst112 can however do it for that cheap....more power to him. That would be really awesome! Good luck Catalyst112....and kento911!

s34n, no I am not going to make more than 50 to 75 on each winch if I CAN sell them, I am only going to do a VERY limited run if I do, and I think I may insructions on here, I was thinking of maybe selling them on a cd-rom with detailed 3D cad drawings and step by step instructions for like 15 bucks plus shipping, to try and recoup my investment some IDK it's really up in the air right now, but I definately don't want to make a buisness out of it, I really just want to show it can be done BETTER and CHEAPER than ReWind, my personal opinion is that when the price jumps from a total of 1200 dollars from 1400 to 2600 and the guy says he's STILL not making any money he's either a bad buisness man or a liar, and I really just want to prove there are better alternatives, some friends of mine are trying to do a demo out here in conjunction with hyperlite, and Im planning on having it done by then so it will (hopefully cross my fingers and toes) be the towing device, and alot of people will be able to see it up close and in action.

DVS805, oh man I wish I had more news, I had Leif Erkilla at Kampus express an interest when I called to warranty my friends K-39, but I haven't been able to do any foot work for the last week and a half, it has been raining cats and dogs out here , and my neighborhood keeps getting flooded so naturally it's on the back burner for now, but Im really doing all that I can to help the process along guys, Im really sorry, building these isn't the problem, getting parts is, and I can't make people come through on their commitments any faster than they will, but I will keep you guys updated.

Hey some more news, I have picked up a silent partner/investor/designer, my dad has been a design engineer, for over 20 years, he has over 100 patents, and he's going to partner with me to help get this going, the good news is that means a better designed winch for you guys, and possibly less monetary stress on me, we're supposed to speak with a prospective engine supplier on monday, If if all pencils out these will have 4 stroke 200 cc motors, I've also found a way to include 300 ft of non strech line that can withstand 5oolbs of force, other exciting possibilities, that I have to analyse cost wise, but I really would like to include are the Disc Brake idea, and possibly a speedo, with a little luck I can meet my Dec 2nd goal.

b1nkz4trac, I don't want to start guessing and end up totally wrong, I can probably tell you monday night - tuesday, but I'm 95 percent sure it will still be signifigantly less than the 2600 pricetag on the rewinds and still be a much better designed product

DVS805, Thank you, you know seriously I have never seen my pops design anything that didn't work right and look good, he's very good at what he does, I am mega excited to have him helping me out, it's really a win-win situation
