From what I've read, it's at least slowed down. Which is a start. i'm sure they're on their way to getting everything closed-off. It's still spewing oil, but it's a start Birthday

yeah its slowed down not stopped by any means, never trust any info from BP, bad press is bad for business and they'll go outta their way to make it seem alot better than it really is

BP said it was only 5,000 barrels a day but newer numbers showed up to 2 million a day

That 2 million number you heard was in gallons, not barrels. There are 42 gallons in a barrel. I'll let you do the math. But that number is still very high... and probably not very accurate

I've heard a more realistic number thrown around of about 10,000 barrels a day.

To be honest there is no actual way to know without a flow gauge on there b/c the flow has been fluctuating significantly.

so oil is very close to mobile bay. perhaps it's already in there under the surface and already in my river. i was wondering if the bayou boys have had any problems on their water ways. the pics of those oil soaked birds really upset me. i hate birds, but they don't deserve that. if the oil get's into our rivers that mean's no riding Sad

I am absolutely furious every single day of my life right now. like the ginger kid on that youtube video a while back. I had a dream last night that i was at a wakeskate railjam taking photos in the water when i saw a streak of oil go by me, then slowly encompassed the whole area. I love how BP can blow up the well to make it stop, but they chose not to because they'd lose the well and all the profits they gain from it......and the fact they donated equal amounts to the Mccain and Obama campaign that way they would always have the President on their back!
